RetailPOS.AI is a small team building the POS we wished existed when we ran cafés and retail shops across three different countries. The thing that broke us every time was the same: our data was locked inside the vendor, the integrations were brittle, and offline mode was always “coming soon”.
Our take: a POS belongs to the owner, not the vendor. Multi-store should come included on every plan, not as a $40/month upsell. Recipes should deplete the real ingredients you actually used. The till should keep working when the internet doesn't. And the books should be tamper-evident — so the people you trust to count the drawer can be trusted by your accountant.
We answer email ourselves. No call centres, no “ticket has been escalated”, no bot. Our first customers came from operators who tried Square, hit a wall on multi-store reporting or data export, and wanted something built by people who pick up the phone.
How we run this
- →One flat price per shop. No per-transaction cut, no “tier-locked” features. Square takes a percentage of every sale; we don't. Bring your own Stripe.
- →Your data is yours. One click → download every customer, every sale, every receipt as a single file. We don't hold data hostage to keep you on the plan. If you leave, you leave clean.
- →We answer email ourselves. No call centres, no “ticket-has-been-escalated”, no bot greeting. The person who built the feature is usually the one who answers when it breaks.
- →We ship features, not promises. Our features page lists only what works today — never the roadmap. Sales pages that mix “coming soon” with “today” are how cheap POS hides what it can't do.
- →We honour your existing hardware. No three-year leases, no proprietary terminals. Star printer, Honeywell scanner, Stripe Reader — bring them.
