How does this compare to Square's pricing?

Square is free at the entry tier but takes ~2.6% + 10¢ per card sale and charges $60/month for their restaurant + retail plans. On 1,000 monthly orders averaging $20, that's ~$580/month in processing + plan fees. We're $29/shop flat; you pay your own Stripe rate directly (typically 1.5%–2.4% depending on volume + region). For most shops over 20 sales a day, we come out cheaper inside the first month.

How does this compare to Clover?

Clover quotes $0–$80/month plus 2.3%–3.5% processing plus a 3-year hardware lease (~$60-90/month). Hardware locked to First Data / Fiserv. We don't lease hardware — bring an iPad and a Stripe Reader. Total monthly cost for a single shop is typically $200+/month less.

Do I pay per transaction?

No. The monthly plan is the plan. Card processing fees go to your Stripe (or alt-provider) account, not to us.

Can I switch tiers any time?

Yes — up or down, pro-rated on the next invoice. No long-term contracts on Starter or Pro.

What hardware do you need?

A modern laptop or iPad for the register, a USB or network receipt printer (ESC/POS), and a USB barcode scanner. Stripe Terminal for card present. We don't lock you to any specific brand.

Is there a free trial?

The platform is free until your first 100 paid sales. After that you pick a plan; if you don't, your tenant goes read-only but your data is preserved indefinitely.

Can I run it on my own server?

For chains with strict data residency or on-prem requirements: yes, we offer a managed install on your own server. Email [email protected] for a quote.

What happens to my data if I leave?

One click in Settings → Download all data exports every order, item, customer, and receipt as a single file. Yours to keep. We don't hold your data hostage to keep you on the plan.

Do you have a partner / referral program?

For agencies and integrators yes — 20% recurring on referrals. Email [email protected].

What's a typical Scale customer's spend?

It depends on shop count, whether you self-host or we host, and which support tier you want. Email [email protected] with a rough shop count and region and we will quote against your setup the same day. We don't publish a range here because the variable is real and small differences in scope move the number a lot.

What's the on-prem cost model?

On-prem adds a one-time install + migration fee plus an annual support retainer on top of the Scale monthly fee. You bring your own infrastructure (Hetzner, OVH, your own metal — your call), we operate the stack on it. Email [email protected] for a quote sized to your hardware and region.
