Set up the Furniture pack
For Furniture store owners · 5 min read · Last reviewed 2026-08-04
A furniture sale rarely ends at the till. The customer picks a sectional that isn’t on the floor, puts a deposit down today, pays the rest over a few weeks, and books delivery for next month — all on one ticket. The Furniture pack sets up a catalogue and the three workflows that make this work: order fulfilment, deliveries and layaway.
Floor models still sell the ordinary way — each piece is a stocked item, decremented at the till. Everything else you special-order from a supplier and track through to the customer’s door. This guide gets the pack installed and points you at each workflow.

Install and shape your catalogue
- Install the Furniture pack on a fresh store.
- Rename the sample pieces to your range and set your prices — sofas, dining, bedroom, office, living, outdoor and accents come seeded.
- Keep the Delivery & assemblyservice items (local, extended and white-glove delivery, on-site assembly, old-furniture haul-away) — you’ll add them as lines alongside the goods.
What to set up next
- Order fulfilment — special-order lines that don’t touch floor stock, moved from on order to delivered.
- Deliveries — a date and time window per order, grouped for the driver’s day.
- Layaway & payment plans — take a deposit and let customers pay over time before collection.
Services on the same ticket
Delivery, assembly and haul-away are ordinary items priced per service level, so a sectional, white-glove delivery, assembly and haul-away of the old sofa sit as separate lines on one order. The total and tax add up across the lot, and the customer can pay for the whole ticket through a single payment plan.
Frequently asked
- Can the same piece be both a floor model and a special-order?
- Yes. A floor model sells from stock and walks out; the same catalogue item can also be special-ordered from your supplier on a different line. The pack handles each independently.
- Do I need a separate app for delivery scheduling or layaway?
- No. Deliveries and layaway payment plans are built into RetailPOS and shown in the back office — no add-on or extra subscription.
