Loyalty points: earning and redeeming
For Owners & managers · 4 min read · Last reviewed 2026-08-04
Loyalty rewards repeat customers. When a sale has a customerattached, they earn points on the order; later they redeem points as a discount on a future sale. It’s a points ledger, so every earn and burn is on record.

Earning
Attach a customer to the sale at checkout. On payment, points accrue against their account — one point per major unit of the order total by default. No customer attached, no points.
Redeeming
On a later sale for the same customer, redeem their points at checkout. The points convert to a discount that stacks on the order, capped at the subtotal, and the balance is deducted from their ledger.
