Gift receipts and gift wrap
For Toy shop owners & cashiers · 4 min read · Last reviewed 2026-08-04
Most of what a toy shop sells is a present, so two small things carry a lot of weight: a gift receipt that lets the receiver return an item without seeing what was paid, and a gift-wrap service the cashier can add in a tap.
Both are built in — no add-on app, no printer hack. Here’s how to use them at the counter.

Print a gift receipt
A gift receipt is a version of the receipt with the prices hidden, so the person receiving the gift can bring it back if they need to without knowing what it cost. Print it alongside (or instead of) the normal receipt when a sale is a present.
Add gift wrap as a service
The pack seeds a Gift wrap line as a service item priced at a small default. The cashier adds it to the ticket like any other product, so a wrapped gift shows up on the sale and in your totals. Adjust its price to whatever you charge, or set it to nothing if you wrap for free.
Put them together at the counter
- Ring up the toy the customer is buying.
- Add the Gift wrap service line if they want it wrapped.
- Take payment, then print the gift receipt to tuck in with the present.
Frequently asked
- Does a gift receipt show the price?
- No. The gift receipt hides prices so the receiver can return the item without knowing what was paid. The buyer still gets a full receipt.
- How is gift wrap charged?
- Gift wrap is a seeded service line the cashier adds to the ticket. Set its price to whatever you charge, or to nothing if you wrap for free.
- Do I need an extra app for either?
- No. Gift receipts and the gift-wrap service are built into RetailPOS and available from the till.
